ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ

มาอีกแล้วค่ะ กับหัวข้อเรื่องแปลกๆ :]  แต่เราเองก็ไม่รู้จะใช้ชื่ออะไรให้เหมาะไปกว่านี้อีกแล้วค่ะ การที่คุณไปต่างประเทศไม่ว่าจะด้วยฐานะอะไรก็ตาม หรือด้วยโครงการอะไรก็ตาม คนที่ข้องเกี่ยวกับคุณจะเรียนรู้ประเทศไทย ความเป็นไทยต่างๆ จากตัวคุณนั่นเองค่ะ แล้วสิ่งที่เค้าเรียนรู้นั้น เค้าก็จะสรุปรวบยอดเหมารวมทันทีว่าคนไทยเป็นอย่างไร ด้วยความเชื่อนั้นที่ฝังแน่นติดหนึบทันทีค่ะ และการที่ใครอีกคนจะไปเปลี่ยนความเชื่อ หรือความรู้สึกของเค้าในส่วนนี้ ย่อมทำได้ค่อนข้างยากค่ะ ดังนั้นการที่เรานำเสนอแต่ในสิ่งที่ดี จริงใจ (ไม่ใช่ไปแสแสร้างทำให้เค้าคิดว่าเราดีนะ กรุณาจริงใจด้วยค่ะ) ย่อมทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ของเรากับคนนั้น หรือกับ host family นั้นเป็นความสัมพันธ์ที่ดี หรือพูดอีกอย่างนึงก็คือมันเป็นความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศทีเดียวค่ะ  แล้วลองมองอีกมุมนึงนะคะ ว่าหากมีใครบางคนทำตัวไม่ดี โกหก หลอกลวง บางทีถึงขั้นขโมยของของ host family สิ่งต่างๆเหล่านี้จะตกเป็นความซวยอันใหญ่หลวงของคนไทยคนต่อไปที่จำเป็นจะต้องไปเกี่ยวข้องกับครอบครัวของคนเหล่านี้ทันทีค่ะ  เพราะเค้าจะตราหน้าคุณว่าเป็นพวกหัวขโมย ไว้ใจไม่ได้ ก่อนที่เค้าจะเห็นหน้าคุณ หรือรู้จักกับคุณด้วยซ้ำไปค่ะ  แต่ในทางกลับกัน หากเพื่อนๆ สามารถทำให้ host family ทั้งรัก ทั้งหลง และให้ความไว้วางใจได้แล้วล่ะก็ ขอบอกเลยว่ามันเยี่ยมยอดกระเทียมเจียวเลยทีเดียว เพราะว่า่คุณได้สร้างสะพานคอนกรีตไปอเมริกาได้สำเร็จแล้วค่ะ การขอวีซ่าต่างๆ จะทำได้ง่ายขึ้นมากๆ เพราะคุณสามารถขอให้ Host family ของคุณช่วยเหลือในด้านต่างๆได้ค่ะ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น การเขียนจดหมายเชิญชวน จดหมายรับรองเรียนต่อโท บางคนให้ยืม statement เลยก็มี หรือบางทีเค้าก็สามารถให้ที่พักระหว่างที่พวกเรากลับไปเที่ยว USA  อีกด้วยค่ะ โอ้ย!!! เรียกได้ว่าเรามีญาติอยู่ทางนู้นก็ไม่ปาน นี่ยังไม่รวมถึงการดึงดูดให้ host family หรือฝรั่งที่เรารู้จักคนอื่นๆ นั้นมาเที่ยว Thailand ทำให้ประเทศเรามีรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวอีกทางหนึ่งด้วยค่ะ เป็นงัยคะ ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศที่พวกเราได้สร้างขึ้นมากับมือ มันช่างคุ้มค่าจริงๆค่ะ  ฉะนั้นเมื่อรู้อย่างนี้แล้ว พวกเราก็มาช่วยกันรักษาภาพพจน์ของคนไทยด้วยกันนะค้าาา

ข้อพิจารณาในการเลือก Agency

เมื่อเพื่อนๆรู้แล้วว่าตัวเองต้องการไปต่างประเทศด้วยโครงการไหน จากนั้นก็เริ่มลงมือหาข้อมูลกันเลยค่ะ ว่ามี Agency ไหนบ้าง แล้วก็เปรียบเทียบข้อมูลทุกอย่างไม่ว่าจะเป็น ราคา บริการ และสิทธิประโยชน์ต่างๆ การที่เพื่อนๆจะได้ข้อมูลที่ดีที่สุด และเชื่อถือได้มากที่สุดนั้น เราแนะนำให้ถามจากคนรู้จักที่เคยใช้บริการจาก Agency นั้นๆค่ะ และหากมากกว่า 70 % บอกว่าดีแล้วนั้น ก็ค่อยเลือกใช้บริการค่ะ นอกจากนี้ก็ตามอ่านเว็บบอร์ดต่างๆที่เขียนเกี่ยวกับโครงการที่เพื่อนๆเลือกจะไปค่ะ  และอีกอย่างนะคะ กรุณาอย่ายึดติดกับ ราคาโปรโมชั่น ที่บาง agency กระหน่ำโปรโมทว่าถูกที่สุดสำหรับโครงการนั้นๆ  เพราะคุณภาพการบริการบางครั้งมันก็….ไม่เป็นที่น่าพอใจค่ะ

แต่ที่สุดแล้ว นอกจากข้อมูลข้อเท็จจริงต่างๆนาๆ ที่พวกเราสามารถค้นหากันได้แล้ว ยังมีส่วนในเรื่องของ “ดวง” เป็นอีกปัจจัยค่ะ เพราะบางคนได้ agency ดี บริการดีทุกอย่าง แต่เมื่อเดินทางไปถึงที่ USA แล้ว ทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างกลับไม่เป็นไปอย่างที่คิด กลับตะละปัดอย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ ต้องดิ้นรนทุกอย่างด้วยตัวเองก็มีให้เห็นถมไปค่ะ บางคนถูกส่งตัวกลับไทยเลยก็มี  แต่อย่างน้อยเราก็อยากให้เพื่อนๆ เตรียมตัวให้พร้อมที่สุดก่อนที่จะไปเผชิญชีวิตต่างแดนนะคะ

คุณเหมาะที่จะไปต่างประเทศด้วยโครงการไหน?

ปัจจุบันนี้มีโครงการไปต่างประเทศให้เพื่อนๆได้เลือกมากมายหลายโครงการค่ะ แต่ว่าโครงการไหนจะเหมาะกับคุณที่สุดนั้น คงต้องคิดพิจารณาให้ดีกันสักหน่อยนะคะ  วันนี้เราก็เลยมีคำถามชวนคิดให้เพื่อนๆได้ลองถามตัวเองสัก 3 ข้อค่ะ เราหวังว่ามันน่าจะทำให้เพื่อนๆสามารถเลือกโครงการที่เหมาะกับความต้องการของเพื่อนๆได้มากที่สุดนะคะ

ข้อ1. คุณอยากไปต่างประเทศเพื่ออะไร

• เรียนภาษาอังกฤษ , พัฒนาภาษาอังกฤษ  ( work and study, english cousres)
• เรียนต่อปริญญาโท (Master plus work)
• ทำงานหาเงิน (work and travel,  internship)

ข้อ2. คุณเป็นคนนิสัยอย่างไร

• อยู่ติดบ้าน (อยู่กับ host family)
• ชอบอยู่แบบอิสระ (เลือกหาที่พักเอง)
• รักเด็ก  (Aupair)
• ชอบงานบริการ (work and travel, work and study,camp counselor)
• อดทนมากน้อยแค่ไหน (all programs)  ** เรื่องนี้สำคัญมากนะ

ข้อ3. คุณต้องการประสบการณ์ด้านไหนมากที่สุด

• อยากสัมผัสบรรยากาศออฟฟิศ (ดูว่าเค้าทำงานกันอย่างไร) ———> Internship
• อยากทำงานร้านอาหาร โรงแรม หรือสวนสนุก (เพราะได้ทิปเยอะดี) —–> Work and travel
• อยากรู้สึกผู้คนเยอะๆ ได้พูดคุยกับคนนั้น คนนี้  (Camp counselor)
• อยากรู้จักและเข้าใจวัฒนธรรม American อย่างแท้จริงๆ (ทุกโครงการที่ได้อยู่กับ host family)

เมื่อเพื่อนๆได้ลองตอบคำถามเหล่านี้แล้ว ก็น่าจะได้รู้คร่าวๆแล้วนะคะว่าคุณเหมาะที่จะไปโครงการไหนมากที่สุด และโอกาสหน้า เราจะมาพูดถึงแต่ละโครงการอย่างเจาะลึกกันค่ะ

ทุนการศึกษาต่อต่างประเทศ จากม.หอการค้าไทย

มหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทยพิจารณาให้ทุนการศึกษาต่อต่างประเทศ ประจำปีการศึกษา 2552 ทั้งในระดับปริญญาโทควบเอกและปริญญาเอก จำนวน 10 ทุน ดังนี้

1. คุณสมบัติของผู้มีสิทธิ์สมัครสอบ

1. มีอายุไม่เกิน 40 ปี นับถึงวันสุดท้ายของการรับสมัคร (วันที่ 15 กันยายน 2552)
2. ถ้าเป็นอาจารย์ประจำของมหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทยต้องมีอายุงานไม่ต่ำกว่า 1 ปี
3. มีคะแนนภาษาอังกฤษ TOEFL ไม่ต่ำกว่า 79 (Internet-Based) / 213 (Computer–Based) / 550 (Paper-Based) หรือ คะแนน IELTS ไม่ต่ำกว่า 6.5 หรือ คะแนน GMAT ไม่ต่ำกว่า 550 โดยผลการสอบต้องไม่เกิน 2 ปี (นับถึงวันที่สมัครสอบ)
4. ผู้สมัครศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาโทควบเอก
ต้องเป็นผู้ได้รับวุฒิปริญญาตรีหรือประกาศนียบัตรเทียบเท่าปริญญาตรี และมีผลการศึกษาเฉลี่ยตลอดหลักสูตรการศึกษาไม่ต่ำกว่า 3.00 หรือเทียบเท่า
5. ผู้สมัครศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาเอก
ต้องเป็นผู้ได้รับวุฒิปริญญาโทหรือประกาศนียบัตรเทียบเท่าปริญญาโท และมีผลการศึกษาเฉลี่ยตลอดหลักสูตรการศึกษาไม่ต่ำกว่า 3.25 หรือเทียบเท่า
บุคคลที่สำเร็จการศึกษาจากประเทศอังกฤษ ออสเตรเลีย และนิวซีแลนด์ ต้องมีผลการศึกษาในระดับ Pass ไม่เกิน 40% ของรายวิชาทั้งหมดที่เรียนในระดับปริญญาโท
6. ต้องไม่เป็นผู้อยู่ระหว่างการรับทุนจากสถาบันหรือองค์กรใด หรือหากเคยได้รับทุนจากสถาบันหรือองค์กรใดไปศึกษา ณ ต่างประเทศมาแล้ว ต้องเป็นผู้ซึ่งหมดภาระผูกพันในการปฏิบัติงานชดใช้ทุนตามสัญญาที่ได้ทำไว้กับสถาบันหรือองค์กรนั้น ๆ แล้ว
7. เป็นผู้ที่ไม่เคยและไม่อยู่ในระหว่างการถูกฟ้องคดีแพ่งหรือคดีอาญา

2. กำหนดการรับสมัคร

1. เปิดรับสมัครตั้งแต่วันที่ 27 กรกฎาคม – 15 กันยายน 2552
2. การยื่นใบสมัครผู้สมัครสามารถยื่นใบสมัครด้วยตนเองหรือจะให้ผู้อื่นมายื่นแทนก็ได้ที่ฝ่ายวิชาการ มหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทย (อาคาร 10 ชั้น 5) ตั้งแต่เวลา 9.00 – 16.00 น. (หยุดวันเสาร์ – อาทิตย์และวัน นักขัตฤกษ์)

What Should You Major In?

คำถามยอดฮิต ว่าจะเลือกเรียนอะไรดี  นั้นยังคงแรงไม่หยุดค่ะ เราก็เลยต้องขอเอาเรื่องนี้ขึ้นมาพูดอีกสักรอบค่ะ เพราะหากเพื่อนๆลือกเรียนคณะผิดนั้นมันจะทำให้เพื่อนๆนั้นรู้สึกเสียใจไปตลอดค่ะ ยกตัวอย่างเราเป็นต้น ครั้งเมื่อเอ็นฯติดได้คณะที่จริงๆก็ไม่ได้อยากจะเรียน แต่ก็เลือกเรียนเพราะไหนๆมันก็ติดไปแล้ว  จากวันนั้นมาจนถึงวันนี้เราก็ยังคงเสียใจอยู่ค่ะ เพราะถ้าหากเรารู้ตัวเร็วกว่านี้อีกสักนิด ป่านนี้เราคงได้ทำอะไรเป็นชิ้นเป็นอันไปแล้ว และเราเองก็คงจะมีความสุขอย่างมากทีเดียว และทั้งๆที่ตอนนั้นมีโอกาสเอ็นฯใหม่ แล้วก็ติดที่ใหม่ที่ดีกว่าเดิม เราก็ดันไม่ย้ายไปเรียนที่ใหม่ สาเหตุก็เพราะเพื่อนค่ะ มาถึงยุคสมัยนี้คำถามนี้ก็ยังคงเป็นปัญหาโลกแตกสำหรับใครหลายๆคน เราเองอยากจะย้ำว่าการเลือกเรียนไม่ว่าจะเป็นคณะอะไรนั้น สำคัญมากๆค่ะ เพราะหากมันตรงกับความสามารถ และความสนใจของคุณแล้วล่ะก็ ยังงัยก็ต้องประสบความสำเร็จแบบฉุดไม่อยู่แน่ๆค่ะ อย่าใช้ชีวิตแบบเรื่อยเปื่อย สอบให้ผ่านๆ รับใบปริญญา แค่นั้นเลยนะคะ เพราะปริญญาตรี เป็นหลักสูตรที่พวกเราใช้เวลาอยู่กับมันตั้ง 4 ปีเชียวนะคะ

บ้างครั้งตัวเราเองอาจจะไม่รุ้ว่าตัวเรานั้นเหมาะกับอะไร หรือคณะไหน แต่พื่อนๆ หรือคนใกล้ตัวเรานั้นสามารถให้คำตอบเราได้ค่ะ ลองนึกกันดูดีๆนะคะ ว่าเพื่อนๆนั้นได้รับคำชมจากคนอื่นในเรื่องไหนมากที่สุด หรือบางคนอาจจะบอกว่าเรามีพรสวรรค์ด้านนั้นด้านนี้ ลองคิดและถามตัวเองไปเรื่อยๆค่ะ บางครั้งคำตอบก็อยู่ใกล้เรามากกว่าที่คิด รอแค่เราต้องถามตัวเราเองแค่นั้นค่ะ และอีกหนึ่งวิธีที่อาจจะช่วยเป็นไกด์ให้พวกเราได้ นั่นก็คือ แบบทดสอบต่างๆค่ะ บางคนก็บอกว่าตรง บางคนก็บอกไม่ใช่ แต่เราว่าลองทำดูก็ไม่เสียหายค่ะ และบางทีมันอาจจะทำให้ใครบางคนค้นเจอตัวเองก็ได้ค่ะ YEAH !!  ลองมาทำแบบทดสอบนี้กันดูค่ะ แค่ 5 ข้อเท่านั้นค่ะ สั้นๆ ง่ายๆ ที่  www.blogthing.com/whatshouldyoumajorinquizz/ 

Swiss Government Scholarships 2010-2011

Swiss Government scholarships for university, fine arts and music schools for foreign students for the academic year 2010-2011

Thailand

1. Types of scholarship: University scholarships: University scholarships are open to students from both industrialised and developing countries, but are intended exclusively for study at one of Switzerland’s 10 universities or 2 federal institutes of technology.

   Arts scholarships: No scholarships.

   UAS scholarships: No scholarships.

2. Eligibility
   • Candidates must hold a university degree (Bachelors/Masters) on commencement of the scholarship.
   • Candidates must be able to demonstrate their academic abilities and what they aim to achieve.
   • Candidates must contact the institution and/or the professor supervising their period of research. Universities may request supplementary information and/or set certain additional conditions to determine whether or not you qualify for admission.
   • Candidates must be under the age of 35 (born on or after 1.1.1975).
   • Candidates must be suitably proficient in the language of instruction (French, German, Italian or English) in order to draw full benefit from their studies in Switzerland.
   • Candidates who have already embarked on the first year of a Masters programme at a Swiss university or UAS are no longer eligible for a Swiss government scholarship (with the exception of arts scholarships). Such applications will not be considered by Swiss diplomatic representations.
   • Swiss government scholarships may not be combined with other scholarships or awards.
3. Length and amountScholarships are provided for a nine-month academic year. Scholarships for postgraduate or Masters programmes lasting up to 2 years (3 or 4 semesters) may be extended depending on results from the first year.

   Scholarships consist of monthly payments of:

   CHF 1920.-	for postgraduate students
   CHF 1920.-	for fine arts and music students
   CHF 1600.-	for students attending language courses in Fribourg or Lugano

   The Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students does not cover the cost of academic and /or term fees. Generally-speaking, the universities and the Zurich Federal Institute of Technology exempt holders of Swiss government scholarships from term fees, but not necessarily from Masters programme enrolment fees. In the event that these fees are not waived, it is up to the scholarship holder to arrange payment.

4. Application procedure
   1. If you fulfil the eligibility requirements contact the Swiss diplomatic representation in your country of origin.
   2. The diplomatic representation will provide you with all the necessary information regarding the procedure including application forms and a list of required documentation.
5. AwardsTechnically, the scholarships are offered to the government of the student’s country of origin and not to the student. Applications are subject to preliminary selection by the relevant national authorities and the Swiss diplomatic representation. The Swiss diplomatic representation then passes on the selected applications to the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) which subsequently takes the final decision. The FCS is composed of academic staff drawn from Swiss universities. Scholarship awards are made on the basis of academic and scientific excellence.

DAAD Scholarship 2010

DAAD Scholarships 2010/2011 for Doctoral Candidates and Young Academics and Scientists

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for post-graduate studies and research to Thai nationals for the academic year 2010/2011.

Applicants must be academic staff members of universities or research institutes.

Scholarships for ‘Long-term Research’ and ‘Sandwich Scheme’

The scholarships are available in every academic field. Applicants must have a Master’s Degree and marks well above average. At the time of application, generally no more than six years should have passed since the graduate gained the last degree; in the case of doctoral students, no more than three years should have passed since starting the doctoral process; and in the case of postdocs, no more than four years should have passed since gaining the doctorate.

Applicants from the field of medicine (especially visiting doctors planning to practice temporarily) must submit evidence of a medical science degree, a registered license to practice medicine in Thailand (“approbation”) and a certificate of proficiency. Applicants from the field of dentistry should have 1 – 2 years experience in their work.

The German Embassy wishes to emphasize that applicants ought to attend intensive German language courses, e. g. the German Cultural Institute (Goethe-Institut) prior to their departure.

The scholarship, which is extendible to several academic years, includes a monthly allowance varying from Euro 750, — to 1,000, — (approx. Baht 35,000.– to 48,000.–) plus tuition fees, etc., in accordance with the applicant’s academic standing. Furthermore, travel expenses to and from Germany, an allowance for German health insurance coverage, as well as initial allowances for clothing and books will be paid by DAAD.

Research Stays for University Academics and Scientists, Study Scholarships for Law Students and Re-invitation Programmes for Former Scholarship Holders are currently open to Thai applicants.

Application forms for these scholarships are available at the German Embassy and DAAD Information Center from now on or can be downloaded here.

Applicants are requested to submit their application documents (in English or German) as following:

- 4x Application form with photo and a cover letter

- 1x Biography – handwritten (as an essay)

- 4x Biography – typed

- 4x Study- or research plan

- 4x High School transcript of records – certified by the official authority

- 4x B.A. or B.Sc. certificate and transcript of records – certified by the official authority

- 4x M.A .or M.Sc. certificate and transcript of records – certified by the official authority

- 4x German language certificate

- 4x Confirmation of employment and approval of application by employing agency

- 2x Recently-dated letter of recommendation (4x each)

- 4x Document of acceptance from a Professor at a German university

For applicants from the field of medicine ‘only’:
- 4x M.D. certificate with Medical Registration (approbation) and certificate of proficiency, D.D.S. or D.V.M. certificate with Medical Registration (approbation) and transcript of records – certified by the official authority
